OXFORD – Eddie MacDonald of Rowley, Mass., became one of the few drivers to win a race both in the NASCAR Busch East Series and American-Canadian Tour in the same season by winning the ACT Time Warner Cable 100 at Oxford Plains Speedway Saturday night.

MacDonald put himself in contention and made his move with a dozen laps remaining. He passed TD Banknorth 250 champ Roger Brown of Lancaster, N.H., and then held off big charges down the stretch by Ricky Rolfe of Albany Township and Travis Adams of Canton to win the caution-free race.

Rolfe was runner-up and Adams finished third. Brown was fourth and Jean-Paul Cyr of Milton, Vt., finished fifth.

Wiscasset Raceway

At Wiscasset Saturday, Bill Penfold of Yarmouth tasted victory for the first time in almost 10 years at Wiscasset by holding off five-time track champion Scott Chubbock of Brunswick in the pro stocks 50-lap feature race.

Penfold, who raced in the Busch North Series for many years, had to hold Chubbock off for the final 45 laps – and five restarts – in order to end his victory drought in the 18-car field. Penfold roared past pole-sitter Scott Moore of Anson, but was stalked by Chubbock, who started fourth, for much of the race.

Chubbock finished second with Moore third. Chuck Colby of Wiscasset was fourth and Curtis Gerry of Waterboro finished fifth.
