Montville’s Hall shuts down Aerus

HERMON – Nate Hall scattered nine hits over seven innings to earn the complete-game victory and lead No. 2 Tommy D’s of Montville to a 5-3 Bay League divisional playoff win over Aerus Electrolux Saturday.

With Aerus getting a 7-0 forfeit victory over No. 3 Eastern division seed Movingme.com Sunday, Montville and Aerus will have a rematch Tuesday in Hermon at 5:30 p.m.

Mike Adams led Montville with a double and a single. Greg Thayer hit an RBI double and Ben Cowan added an RBI single.

Nate Ellis led Aerus with a double, single and one RBI. Phil Cayford singled twice and Randy Renaud had a two-run single.

At Hermon Saturday, Chris McInnis had a single and two RBIs to pace Total Life Fitness to a playoff win.

Chad Lavway singled twice and Barrett Dionne had a double for Union Street Cleaners.

At Hermon Sunday, Brian Hackett struck out 12 and walked three in a four-hitter as Union Street Cleaners earned the playoff victory and eliminated Dovetail Furniture.

Hackett also doubled, singled and drove in a run. Chad Lavway hit a double and two singles and George Keefe added two singles and an RBI.

Darren Spack led Dovetail Furniture with an RBI single.
