Vegging out
Love vegetarian cooking? Learn to slice, dice, saute and simmer like a pro with chef Eileen Dunn-Kell. This six-week class, offered through Ellsworth Adult Education, will begin Sept. 17 at the Boggy Brook Tech School’s culinary arts department. Dunn-Kell served as head chef at Blue Hill’s Left Bank Cafe, and she also has worked at Castine Inn, Jonathan’s, Cleonice and the Lookout. The hands-on class will focus on home cooking with a professional edge, and menu possibilities include pad Thai, peanut noodles, polenta lasagna and tofu pot pie. Through Aug. 31, Greater Bangor residents can nominate someone who has made an impact in their lives or in the community to receive Bugaboo Creek Steak House’s Hometown Heroes honor.
