Thieves cut a hole in a perimeter fence at Central Maine Power Co.’s Park Street plant in Dover-Foxcroft on Monday night and removed six transformers.
Two of the transformers were found outside the fence, but four were missing, Lt. Scott Arno of the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department said Tuesday.
The total value of the missing transformers is $2,400, he said.

Lincoln police are asking for the public’s help in finding out who broke into a local business and three homes sometime early Tuesday morning.
Someone broke into High Street Market on Enfield Road and stole lottery tickets and cigarettes, Lincoln police Officer Chad Chubbuck said Tuesday.
Three homes also were entered about one mile away and purses were taken. The doors of all three homes were left unlocked and residents were home in each instance, but no one was injured, he said.
Police are unsure whether all four instances are connected, but believe the burglaries took place between midnight and 3 a.m. Tuesday.
“The [burglaries] might not be related, but there’s a chance they are,” Chubbuck said.
He urges residents to lock their doors and windows, and asks that anyone with information regarding the burglaries call the Lincoln Police Department at 794-2221.
