Washburn 5, LCS/MSSM 0

LIMESTONE – Alex Bird scored three goals to lead the Washburn girls soccer team to a 5-0 victory over Limestone Community School and Maine School of Science and Mathematics on Wednesday in high school action.

Morgan Berube added two goals for the 1-1 Beavers. Rachel Palmer blocked six of seven shots.

Audra Kirk and Melanie Allen combined to make five saves on 10 shots for the 0-1 Eagles.

Boys soccer

CAHS 3, Fort Fairfield 3 (2OT)

At Fort Fairfield on Tuesday night, Josh Churchill scored with 4:18 left in regulation to tie the game for the Tigers, but neither team could break the tie through two overtimes.

Manny Martinez scored all three goals for the 0-0-2 Panthers of Mars Hill. Logan McCarthy stopped seven of 15 shots.

Cody Closson had a goal and an assist for 0-0-1 Fort Fairfield. Josh Booth added a goal and Austin Dufour made eight saves on 12 shots.

LCS/MSSM 1, Washburn 1 (2OT)

At Limestone on Wednesday, Limestone Community School-Maine School of Science and Mathematics and Washburn goalies didn’t yield a goal through two overtimes.

Chris Parent scored the unassisted tying goal with 7:16 left in regulation to force overtime for 0-0-1 Limestone. A.J. Rossignol stopped 12 of 15 shots.

Adam Wilcox scored with 23:30 left in the first half for 0-1-1 Washburn. Brian Campbell made 12 saves on 17 shots.
