Hans Romer, the tennis director at the Portland Country Club in Falmouth, has been named the new women’s tennis coach at the University of Southern Maine, the Gorham institution announced Monday.
Romer, who coached the men’s and women’s programs at Colby College in Waterville on an interim basis last spring, replaces Lori Towle, who resigned.
Prior to his Portland CC post, Romer served as tennis director at Bridgton Country Club from 2005-2007 and the Pierpont Racquet Club in Ventura, Calif. (2001-2005).
