VAN BUREN – Samuel Chasse scored the game-winning goal off a cross to the right side after beating a defender and delivering a hard kick to the right corner in the second overtime to lift the Fort Kent boys’ soccer team to a 2-1, double-overtime win over Van Buren in its season opener Wednesday.

Corey Voisine scored the first goal unassisted in the first half for the Warriors. Matt Harvey made 15 saves on 21 shots.

Alex Martin scored on a penalty kick for the Crusaders. Pat Gerben saved 14 of 22 shots.

Easton 5, Washburn 1

At Easton, Corey White and Brad Trask each netted a pair of goals to lead undefeated Easton by Washburn.

Nick Flewelling added a goal for Easton while Jeremy Brock stopped 10 of 11 shots for the Bears.

Ethan Doody scored a goal for Washburn while Brian Campbell made 28 saves on 42 shots for the Beavers.

Madawaska 11, LCS/MSSM 0

At Madawaska, Tim McDermott and Michael Cannon each netted two goals as the Owls cruised past Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics.

Shawn Parker and Curtis Thibeault had a goal and two assists apiece for 3-0 Madawaska. Ethan Welch had a goal and assist while John Lee, Nathan Beaulieu, Matt Deschaines and Jordan Albert added a goal apiece. Nathan Beaulieu had five saves on five shots.

A.J. Rossignol stopped nine of 20 shots for the 0-3-1 Eagles.

Fort Fairfield 4, CAHS 1

At Mars Hill, Josh Booth netted a pair of goals to help lead Fort Fairfield past Central Aroostook.

Brandon Doughty and Ryan Noyes each added a goal for Fort Fairfield. Austin Dufour made 19 saves on 23 shots for the 3-0-1 Tigers.

Emmanuel Martinez scored a goal for Central Aroostook while Logan McCarthy and Tyler Rusby combined to make 19 saves on 22 shots for the 2-2-2 Panthers.

Girls soccer

Madawaska 11, LCS/MSSM 1

At Madawaska, Kallie Pelletier, Ashley Cyr, and Kristy Morneault each scored a pair of goals to lead Madawaska by Limestone Community School/ Maine School of Science and Mathematics.

Audrey Bergeron, Valerie Cormier, Susan Lavertu, Danielle Gendreau and Valerie Parker each added a goal for Madawaska. Steph Nadeau had seven saves on 10 shots for the 3-0 Owls.

Kellie Peers scored a goal for LCS/MSSM of a Melanie Allen assist. Audra Kirk stopped 12 of 34 shots for the 0-3 Eagles.

Washburn 10, Easton 1

At Easton, Morgan Berube netted three goals to help lead Washburn by Easton.

Rebecca Campbell had two goals while Alex Bird, Kelsey McLaughlin, Kristen Goupille, Dakota Coch and Megan Saucier each added a goal for Washburn. Rachel Palmer made six saves on seven shots for the 1-3 Beavers.

Kylinne Boulieu scored a goal for Easton while Taylor Burtt made 27 saves on 38 shots for the 0-5 Bears.

Fort Kent 7, Van Buren 0

At Van Buren, Emily Pelletier, Marissa Albert and Taylor Boucher each had two goals and an assist as Fort Kent shut out Van Buren.

Nicole Chasse added a goal and an assist for Fort Kent. Elizabeth Morneault stopped all eight shots she faced for the 1-1 Warriors.

Jennifer Ouelette and Jamie Allen combined for 12 saves on 19 shots for the 1-2 Crusaders.

Fort Fairfield 4, CAHS 2

At Mars Hill, Rose-Mary Williams scored a pair of goals and had an assist to lead Fort Fairfield past Central Aroostook.

Adrian Parody and Courtney Churchill each added a goal for Fort Fairfield. Kristen Hebert made eight saves on 12 shots for the 2-2 Tigers.

Sarah Long and Ashley Estabrook each netted a goal for Central Aroostook. Robyn Graham made eight saves on 21 shots for the 2-2-1 Panthers.

Katahdin 2, Hodgdon 1

At Hodgdon, Kali Rush scored the winning goal with 9:30 remaining in the game to lift Katahdin past Hodgdon.

Brooke Lindsay scored an unassisted goal in the first half for Katahdin. Kayla Stevens made 13 saves on 19 shots for the 1-1 Cougars.

Krystal Estabrook tied the game with a goal early in the second half for Hodgdon. Emily Jurson made 13 saves on 17 shots for the 1-2-1 Hawks.
