A repeat thief from Guilford was caught with several items from Bangor Mall stores, but was charged only with one count of theft.
Katie Sudsbury, 18, was given a summons for theft around 5 p.m. Wednesday after being caught with two pairs of underwear from the Deb Shop that she did not pay for, Lt. Jeff Millard said Thursday. She also had items from Abercrombie & Fitch and Victoria’s Secret, but those stores declined to press charges and asked only that their merchandise be returned, he said. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
After hearing secondhand and thirdhand reports that Daniel Heacock, 43, of Old Town had choked his girlfriend, Old Town police officers went to the residence Wednesday night to investigate, according to Old Town police Sgt. Scott Casey. While officers were at the home talking to the woman, Heacock came downstairs and began to verbally abuse her, Casey said.
Heacock was arrested and charged with domestic assault and criminal threatening. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail where he remained Thursday evening. He is expected to appear next month at 3rd District Court in Bangor. (Aimee Dolloff, BDN)
