PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – Police are investigating an embezzlement complaint from a company in York, Maine.

The company, which police declined to name, alleges more than $23,000 was taken from an account at Ocean National Bank in Portsmouth. Police Lt. Rodney McQuate said the allegation has nothing to do with bank employees.

Authorities wouldn’t give more details, citing the active investigation.
