It’s no secret that I’m a fan of “Project Runway,” but I’m also partial to Tim Gunn and his dry, witty, sarcastic style.
While we don’t always agree when it comes to fashion, I thoroughly enjoyed the first two episodes of his new show – a reality spinoff from “Runway” – appropriately titled “Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style.”
For three seasons, and soon to be a fourth, Gunn has provided advice to up-and-coming designers on “Project Runway.” In his new Bravo reality show, Gunn gets to show off another side of himself as he works with fashion-challenged women and brings on a dramatic journey from dull to diva.
Using advice straight from his book that’s available to all of us, “Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality Taste and Style,” Gunn gives tips on how to shop, finding the right fit, and wardrobe essentials that never go out of style.
It’s all about being timeless, not trendy.
Gunn isn’t alone in his quest to transform the fashion-challenged. He realizes that although it’s what’s on the inside that counts, an outside transformation requires some emotional help as well.
Accomplice and supermodel Veronica Webb assists women in finding their personal style and makes it clear that she’s not just another pretty face. Webb might be a supermodel, but she’s no airhead.
She was the first African American woman to sign a major cosmetics contract and also is a journalist, author and actress.
Together, the dynamic duo brings together the basic wardrobe to make every woman feel like a princess, including a little black dress, the perfect pair of jeans, and my favorite – sweats.
Don’t miss the first episode at 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, on Bravo.
If you dream of being a real princess, WE tv is working to make wishes come true for the winner of “American Princess.” But it’s not all fun and games. The girls are put to the test each week with princess boot camp to see whether they have what it takes to be all things royal.
The show premiered Sunday with 12 contestants fighting for a true British royal title. Yes, it’s nutty and crazy, but it’s everything that reality TV is about and every girl should watch it at 10 p.m. Sundays.
