Bangor man, 19, charged with OUI, driving without a license

Bangor police noticed a truck driving over a median on a city road early Saturday and pulled the vehicle over to discover the 19-year-old driver was unlicensed and intoxicated.

Michael Tripp of Bangor failed a field sobriety test during the 1 a.m. police stop and was arrested for operating under the influence and driving without a license. An Intoxilyzer test taken later showed his blood- alcohol level at 0.20.

When Tripp arrived at Penobscot County Jail, a driver’s license with a February 1983 birth date listed was found in his sock. Police believe he used the hidden license to purchase alcohol. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

Three people were found sleeping in a car at Wendy’s on Union Street in Bangor around 9 p.m. Sunday after someone reported to police that the driver was possibly drunk.

Brandt Bridges, 27, of Bangor, another man and a woman, Katie Sereyko, 26, of Bangor were found asleep in the car by Bangor officers.

The second man was not identified because he was not arrested.

After interviews, the officers learned the three were apparently under the influence of drugs. Bridges was given a summons for operating under the influence of drugs and operating after suspension. Sereyko was charged with furnishing a Schedule W drug.

Later, it was discovered by police that the vehicle, connected with Sereyko, had improper plates attached so she was given an additional charge of permitting the attachment of false registration plates. Her Penobscot County Superior Court date is Oct. 12. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)

A Brownville man was arrested Monday in connection with a break-in at a Bear Hill residence in Dover-Foxcroft in June.

Wayne Richards, 31, was arrested and was charged with burglary. Richards formerly lived in Dover-Foxcroft.

Richards allegedly entered the residence of James Raymond where a safe was removed from the house, according to Dover-Foxcroft Police Chief Dennis Dyer. The safe contained coins and savings bonds, which have not yet been recovered, he said.

The investigation is ongoing, and more charges may be pending, Dyer said. (Diana Bowley, BDN)
