PORTLAND – A memorial golf tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Riverside Municipal Golf Course to help fund a scholarship for University of Maine students in the memory of Andrew J. McMillan.

McMillan was a UMaine student when he died in July 2003 while working in Topsham. At that time, he was enrolled at UMaine’s mechanical engineering program and was president of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity.

His friends and family have united in an effort to set up two scholarships in his name for students who exhibit his commitment to learning, philanthropy and leadership. Those interested in the golf tournament may visit www.ajmscholarship.com or contact Ryan Holmes at 207-841-3772 to learn how to sign up for a team, contribute time or money or sponsor part of the tourney.
