Construction is under way on a new Tractor Supply Co. store in Skowhegan, the company’s first Maine store, according to its spokesman.
“With so many rural homeowners and outdoor enthusiasts, Maine was the natural next step for Tractor Supply Company,” said Stan Ruta, senior vice president of store operations, in a recently issued statement. “We look forward to serving our new neighbors in Skowhegan and the surrounding communities.”
Tractor Supply sells supplies for livestock and pets, agricultural products, lawn and garden tools, hardware, light truck equipment and work clothing.
Construction began on the 381 Madison Ave. facility on June 11 and is expected to be complete in mid-September.
Tractor Supply operates more than 698 stores in 37 states and one Canadian province. Another store is expected to open in Scarborough in October.
