GORHAM – Greg Cox recorded a goal and two assists as the University of Southern Maine men’s soccer team recorded a 3-0 victory over Thomas College of Waterville Wednesday.

Sinisa Bajic and Tim Murphy each got an assist from Cox to score goals for the 3-0 Huskies, while Cox scored his goal unassisted. David Kreps made five saves on 10 shots.

Russell Beckwith made eight saves for the 2-1 Terriers while Keegan Curtin didn’t have to make a save in relief of Beckwith. The two goalies faced 22 shots.

Holy Cross 1, Maine 0

At Yarmouth, Marsalis Beckford scored unassisted at 30:24 of the first half to lift Holy Cross past Maine.

Thomas Booth saved all three shots he faced for the 2-0 Crusaders.

Nenemanja Kostic stopped five of 10 shots for the 1-1 Black Bears.

Field hockey

Southern Maine 2, Gordon 1

At Gorham, India Lowe knocked in two second-half goals to lift Southern Maine past Gordon College.

Allie Hill recorded four saves on seven shots for the 2-0 Huskies.

Mollie Sweeney scored for 1-2 Gordon, while Chyanne Wilson saved five of 12 shots.

Women’s soccer

Thomas 10, UM-Augusta 1

At Waterville, Julia Nyitray tallied two goals and an assist while Kristi Poland knocked in two goals as Thomas College thumped UMaine-Augusta.

Brittany Morin dished out three assists for the 2-0-1 Terriers, who took a whopping 53 shots on goal.

Niki Mathews scored the lone goal for 0-1 UMaine-Augusta.
