Engaging Chris loves hero games

Christopher is fun to be with and most often smiling!

Christopher, or Chris as he is often called, was born in 1997 and is a handsome and engaging boy. He now resides in a therapeutic foster home. He enjoys playing outside and especially loves making up games in which he pretends to be a superhero.

He also loves to swim and enjoys tumbling and gymnastics. In the past, Chris has had a trampoline, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He also enjoys bowling and cooking.

Christopher attends public school, and he receives special education services for behavioral and academic struggles. Reading is difficult for Christopher, although he loves to have others read to him. Caregivers and school staff report that Chris appears to like school, but he may not want to admit it. Chris does best with one-on-one attention at school.

The best family for Chris would be one that could provide him the level of supervision he needs to feel and be safe. Chris likes to play with other children, but he does need to be closely supervised with peers. Chris wants to belong in a family and likes to please the adults in his life.

Chris is among more than 100 children in the care of the state Department of Health and Human Services seeking an adoptive family. Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
