LONDON – Marcus Davis of Bangor went overseas and came back with another victory – his fifth straight in Ultimate Fighting Championship action at UFC 75 Saturday night.

Davis (18-4) won his 10th consecutive mixed martial arts fight by surviving a huge right to his head by Paul Taylor in the opening round and withstanding an early takedown at O2 Arena.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound Davis caught the 6-0, 170-pound Taylor with a single leg takedown after absorbing a flurry of punches and regaining his feet. He then turned the tables on Taylor (8-2) and finally caught him in an armbar to secure the win by submission four minutes, 14 seconds into the welterweight fight.

The 34-year-old Houlton native and former boxer has now won three of his last five UFC bouts by submission.

The lefthander compiled a 22-1-2 professional boxing record with 17 knockouts. He is now the owner of Team Irish, a mixed martial arts training facility.
