Kim kicks in for Raiders Machias boys, Deer Isle-Stonington girls victorious

EAST MACHIAS – Min Kim scored two goals, one in each half, to lead Washington Academy to a 2-0 high school boys soccer win over Calais Monday.

Milos Gautier provided both assists for Washington Academy. Josiah Jackson stopped 21 of 23 shots.

Dylan Ramsdell made 31 saves on 53 shots for Calais.

So. Aroostook 7, East Grand 2

At Dyer Brook, Tyler Robinson had three goals and an assist to lead Southern Aroostook past East Grand of Danforth.

Dakota Sleeper added two goals and three assists for the 4-2-1 Warriors. Josh Branscombe and Jake Lassonde each scored. Colby Clark stopped four of 10 shots.

Lucas Gillis and Tyler Morse scored for 1-2 East Grand. Abe Brittian made 19 saves on 42 shots.

Machias 6, Jonesport-Beals 1

At Machias, Jacob Dahl scored twice and assisted on another goal to spark the Bulldogs to victory.

Jacob Scoville tallied two goals while Jacob Stevens and Mike Little netted one each for 3-0-1 Machias. Matt Marshall and John Hanson each provided an assist.

Noah Prescott and Little combined to make two saves on four shots.

Brandon Howland scored unassisted for 0-3 Jonesport-Beals. Josiah Duhaime made 10 saves on 29 shots.

Narraguagus 2, Woodland 2

At Harrington, Tom Wilson scored off a Gustavo Ortiz assist with about 10 minutes remaining, helping the Knights earn a 2-2 tie with the Dragons through two overtimes.

Woodland’s Nate Best broke a scoreless tie early in the second half with a goal off a Kris Greene assist. Brandon Meserve made seven saves on 10 shots.

Cody Sappier had set up a Chad James goal for the Dragons, then put them up 2-1 with an unassisted tally. Todd Wormell made 11 saves on 15 shots.

Bangor Christian 2, Lee 0

At Lee, Zach Kutz scored on a corner kick and a penalty kick to lead Bangor Christian to victory over Lee Academy.

Sam McLeod stopped eight of 15 shots for the 4-0 Patriots.

A.J. Harris made 15 saves on 44 shots for 0-3 Lee.

Girls soccer

DI-Stonington 2, Narraguagus 0

At Deer Isle, Meaghan Robinson scored about 30 minutes into the game to lead Deer Isle-Stonington over Narraguagus of Harrington.

Leti Douglass added a second-half goal for the 1-2 Mariners. Anika Powers and Britnie Jones combined for four saves on four shots.

Samantha Baker made two saves on four shots for 0-4 Narraguagus.

Lee Acad. 4, Bangor Christian 3

At Bangor, Amanda Gifford tallied three second-half goals, all of which were assisted by Aarika Ritchie, as the Pandas held off the Patriots.

Heidi Sappier scored an unassisted first-half goal for 3-0 Lee Academy. Karin Bird made 10 saves on 26 shots.

Kelly Robinson scored two goals and assisted on another by Katherine Bragg for 3-1 Bangor Christian. Bragg assisted on one of Robinson’s goals.

Moriah Bach recorded 13 saves on 19 Lee shots.

Field hockey

Dexter 4, Orono 0

At Orono, Michelle Chapman scored a goal and assisted on the other three to lift Dexter over Orono.

Jana Kenny had a goal and an assist for the 2-0 Tigers. Olivia Gardner and Jess Mason added goals. Sam Conary stopped three of five shots.

Amber Saucier made nine saves on 18 shots for 1-2 Orono.

Football

Maranacook 26, Hampden 14

At Readfield, Pat Norwood scored two touchdowns to help lead Maranacook past Hampden Academy Saturday.

Norwood ran for a 1-yard score in the first quarter and returned an interception 48 yards for another touchdown in the third quarter.

Jake Hewett added an 8-yard TD run in the fourth quarter for Maranacook and Mike Brennan had a 1-yard TD run.

Matt Osborne put Hampden on the board with a 1-yard TD carry in the first quarter. Shane Smith completed a 17-yard pass to Dan Ellis in the fourth for another touchdown.
