Big School (Classes A-B)

SHANE WALTON

Walton, a tailback and defensive back for the Bangor football team, intercepted three passes in the second half of the Rams’ 45-0 victory over Brunswick, one he returned 100 yards for a touchdown. Walton also rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.

Small School (Classes C-D)

NATE WARREN

Warren, a tailback for the Bucksport football team, rushed for 311 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries and also returned a kickoff 81 yards for a score in the Golden Bucks’ 29-28 loss at Orono. Warren has 434 rushing yards on just 36 carries.

Girls

Big School (Classes A-B)

SIOBHAN GROGAN

Hampden Academy’s Groghan scored a goal with 33 minutes, 42 seconds left in the second half of Thursday’s game against Bangor proved to be the game-winner as the Broncos defeated the rival Rams 2-1.

Small School (Classes C-D)

JANA KENNEY

Kenney, a senior at Dexter, performed well in two sports last week. On Saturday she became one of few Maine schoolgirls to kick a field goal in football game, which she did in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s 16-6 win over Mount View of Thorndike. The day before she had an assist in a 2-0 field hockey win over John Bapst of Bangor and two days later she recorded a goal and an assist in a 4-0 field hockey win over Orono.
