Curatolo propels Colby

WATERVILLE – Adam Curatolo scored off an assist from Mike Butler in the 72nd minute Wednesday to lift Colby College to a 3-2 men’s soccer victory over Husson College of Bangor.

Curatolo assisted on the game-tying goal by Nate Seiberling in the 61st minute.

Scott Brown scored for Colby off a Todd Boertzel assist. Dan Marden had three saves on 10 shots.

Timothy Mousette scored unassisted for Husson and Hiroki Ueda converted a Nattapong Kongsuriya pass. Miguel Dominguez had eight saves on 24 shots for Husson.

Thomas 3, Southern Vermont 0

At Waterville, Andrew Pelletier scored two goals and Cory Underwood added another as Thomas College prevailed.

Matt Peck and Taylor Helberg notched assists for the 4-1 Terriers. Russell Beckwith had two saves on three shots.

Elias Skiff stopped 19 of 34 shots for 0-5 Southern Vermont.

Women’s soccer

Colby 2, UM-Farmington 0

At Farmington, Katie McCabe and Maggie Herlihy each tallied a goal to lead Colby College of Waterville to victory.

Loni Pisani made two saves on three shots for the 1-1 Mules.

Kerry Kowalczyk and Ashley Holshouser combined to make eight saves on 15 shots for 0-2 UMaine-Farmington.

Field hockey

UNE 1, Saint Joseph’s 0

At Standish, Amy Williams scored the winning goal off a penalty corner at 24:18 to lift the University of New England of Biddeford to victory.

Tanya Callan made eight saves on 13 shots for the 1-2 Nor’easters.

Kathleen Simoes made three saves on six shots for 3-1 Saint Joseph’s.

Bowdoin 7, Husson 0

At Brunswick, Ingrid Oelschlager scored three goals to lead Bowdoin to the shutout of Husson College of Bangor.

Julia King and Lindsay McNamara netted two goals each. Emileigh Mercer and Emily Neilson combined to make one save.

Kelly Bocchino made 14 saves for the Eagles.

UM-Farmington 5, Thomas 0

At Farmington, Amanda Fortin posted two goals and an assist as the University of Maine-Farmington shut out Thomas of Waterville.

Andrea Tyler, Kristin Chambers and Hattie Agnew each added a goal. Kaeleigh Baker and Emily Theriault combined to make two saves on two shots for the 1-1 Beavers.

Drielle Mitchell stopped 17 of 22 shots for the 0-1 Terriers.
