Basic training

SAN ANTONIO – Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Norman Pacholski graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Pacholski, a 1998 graduate of the University of Maine, is the son of Coco Pacholski of Hermon.

SAN ANTONIO – Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Kristopher Robichaud graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Robichaud is the son of Gary and Diane Robichaud of Bucksport.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Army Pvt. Andrew Bryer graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Bryer is the son of Darrell Bryer of Bangor and Jill Bryer of Veazie.

LAWTON, Okla. – Army National Guard Pvt. Shannon Deans graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. A 2006 graduate of Old Town High School, Deans is the child of Randy and Kathy Deans of Argyle.

SAN ANTONIO – Air Force Airman Luke Demmons graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base on Aug. 31. Demmons, a 2007 graduate of Brewer High School, is the son of Ellen M. cotter of Brewer and grandson of William and Louine Cotter of Orrington.

ROTC field training

BEDFORD, Mass. – Christopher Horn completed a U.S. Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps field training encampment at Hanscom Air Force Base, Bedford, Mass. Horn, a student at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, is the son of Jo Anne Horn of Hampden.

ROTC training

TACOMA, Wash. – Anthony Jones graduated from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as “Operation Warrior Forge,” at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash. Jones is a student at the University of Maine.

Mobilized

BREWER – Army National Guard Spec. Kevin Sund has been mobilized and activated for future deployment to an undisclosed overseas location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sund, a military police member with two years of military service, is assigned to the 169th Military Police Company, Brewer. He is the son of Robert Sund and Nancy Elliott of Southwest Harbor.

Marine Education Program

SAN DIEGO – Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Johnathan Fergerson, son of Tamara Fergerson of Bangor and Richard Lozier of Bradford, graduated from the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Calif. Fergerson is a 2000 graduate of Bangor High School. He joined the Marine Corps in July 2000.
