Army National Guard Pfc. Ernest R. Day has been mobilized and activated for a future deployment to an undisclosed overseas location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Day, a military police member, is normally assigned to the 169th Military Police Company in Bangor. He has two years of military service. A 2005 graduate of Waterville Senior High School, he is the son of Edward F. Day Jr. of Madison and Erlile Pellitier of Vassalboro.

Sarah E. Keil graduated from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash. A 2004 graduate of Dexter High School, the cadet is a student at Methodist University in Fayetteville, N.C., and is the daughter of Melvin E. and Cathy M. Wyman of Dexter.

Matthew J. Jackson has graduated from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash. The ROTC cadet has been commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Army. Jackson received a bachelor’s degree in 2000 from Bard College at Simon’s Rock, Great Barrington, Mass. He is the son of Randy D. and Anne Jackson of Millinocket.

Correction: A short notice in the State section of Thursday’s paper said that Matthew J. Jackson, son of Randy D. and Anne Jackson of Millinocket, graduated from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Wash., and was commissioned. He has not yet been commissioned as a second lieutenant. Commissioning will take place next May.
