NEW GLOUCESTER – Space is still available for the U.S. Biathlon Association annual golf tournament, which will feature an appearance by Hockey Hall of Famer Bobby Orr.

The tournament is being held Monday at Falmouth Country Club. Tee time is 11 a.m.

Orr, a former Boston Bruin, will play in a foursome during the golf tournament. Other expected participants include current U.S. Biathlon team members Tim Burke, Lowell Bailey and Jeremy Teela, who have all recently trained at the 10th Mountain Ski Center in Fort Kent, which is part of the Maine Winter Sports Center.

The 18-hole scramble golf tournament will be followed by a social hour and silent auction and then a dinner and a live auction.

The registration fee is $350 per person or $1,000 per foursome, which includes a bag lunch, a round of golf with a cart, a gift from Adidas and a dinner ticket.

The 2006 golf tournament raised almost $30,000 which goes to support the U.S. Biathlon team and the New England Nordic Ski Association.

Burke, a native of Paul Smiths, N.Y., had one of the best-ever seasons for a U.S. biathlete. In 2006-07 he became the first U.S. man to qualify for all six mass start competitions at the World Cup level and had a top-10 finish in the world championship.
