ORONO – Collin Bates racked up 149 yards on 13 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns as the unbeaten Orono Red Riots rolled to a 26-0 high school football victory over the Stearns Minutemen Friday night.

Bates scored on second-quarter bursts of 30 and 55 yards. Dustin Goudreau, who finished with 63 yards on 12 carries, added a 3-yard touchdown plunge to close out a 23-point second quarter for the Red Riots.

Kash Keezer contributed 85 yards on 12 carries while Seth Dwyer kicked field goals of 30 and 20 yards. Orono’s defense held Stearns to 95 yards of total offense.

Cory Barnett paced the Minutemen with 30 yards on nine carries.

Bucksport 39, MCI 18

At Bucksport, Nate Warren piled up 275 yards on 16 carries and scored five touchdowns to lead Bucksport to a 39-18 victory over Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield in a high school football game Friday night.

Warren scored on the opening play of the game with a 58-yard touchdown run.

Robbie Winters added 44 yards on eight carries for Bucksport, which rushed for 411 yards.

Alex Giosia scored in the fourth quarter on a 8-run run for Bucksport.

Zach Dorian connected with Matt Delaney for three touchdowns for MCI.

Dorian was 12-for-16 passing for 141 yards. Delaney caught eight passes for 118 yards.

Robbie McGuire recovered two fumbles in the first quarter for the Golden Bucks and Cam Wentworth intercepted a pass in the third quarter.

Belfast 70, Old Town 14

At Old Town, running back Alex Mansfield rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns as Belfast scored the game’s last 46 points.

Mansfield, who carried the ball 16 times, gave Belfast the lead for good with a 26-yard run and two-point conversion dash.

Josh Boucher’s 6-yard touchdown pass to Lance Getchell had opened the scoring for Old Town but the conversion pass failed.

Nick Marston’s 1-yard run and Kote Aldus’ 46-yard interception return extended the lead to 24-6 before Jeff Boucher cut into the lead with an 80-yard kickoff return.

Belfast broke the game open with 30 points in the second period as Mansfield ran for TDs of 19 yards and 1 yard and Ben Felton and Jake Arthers each had eight-yard runs.

Derrick Bernosky and Trey Feyler had TD runs in the second half.

Tackle Warren Heath had six tackles and two sacks to pace the Belfast defense while Getchell had 10 tackles for Old Town.

Josh Boucher completed 8-of-15 passes for 154 yards, all to Getchell.

At Gardiner, Bass Chadwick ran for 107 yards on eight carries, caught two passes for 35 yards and threw a 42-yard touchdown pass to lead Gardiner past Hampden Academy.

Kyle Stilphen completed seven of 12 passes for 116 yards for Gardiner. He also ran two yards for a touchdown and caught Chadwick’s TD pass.

Jake Croan returned an interception for 74 yards to score in the third quarter and added a 62-yard run for a touchdown in the fourth.

Brad Carleton scored in the first quarter on a 81-yard run for Gardiner.

Ryan Blake scored Hampden’s lone touchdown on a 13-yard run in the fourth.

At Skowhegan, Zack Whiting rushed for 204 yards on 32 carries and scored two touchdowns to lift Skowhegan over Messalonskee of Oakland.

Bill Clark added 16 carries for 123 yards and two touchdowns for the Indians.

Cody Vigue scored on a 30-yard run in the fourth quarter and also rushed for the two-point conversion.

Chris Pelletier scored in the second quarter on a 40-yard fumble return for Messalonskee. Andy Breton had 14 rushes for 64 yards.
