White edges Phippen for Sportsman’s title

HERMON – Paul White of Corinna trailed Town Hill’s John Phippen Jr. by one point entering Sunday’s Sportsman finale and won the championship by five points at Speedway 95.

Brenton Parritt of Steuben took the Limited Sportsman crown and Steve Moulton won the Super Street feature and championship. Rowland Robinson Jr. won the Strictly Street championship and Dixmont’s Lewis Batchelder claimed the Sport Four championship.

Brad Bellows of China outran Chris Huff of Orrington and Freedom’s Donnie York to win the Super Street feature race and championship Friday. Ernie Wallace of Winterport was fourth and Dustin Hubbard finished fifth.

Cary Davis of St. Albans wrapped up the Pro-Four Championship.
