Big School (Classes A-B)

KYLE CORRIGAN

Corrigan, a senior forward for the Caribou boys soccer team, sparked the Vikings to a pair of victories. He scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Fort Kent, then had four goals in a win against Foxcroft Academy. Corrigan has 16 goals and five assists through Caribou’s 7-1 start this season.

Small School (Classes C-D)

SAM WEISS

Weiss, a sophomore running back and linebacker for the Rockland football team, scored seven touchdowns in the Tigers’ 63-0 win at Dexter on Saturday. Weiss rushed for 271 yards and six touchdowns on 13 carries and caught one pass for 51 yards. He also returned the second-half kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown as Rockland improved its record to 2-1.

GIRLS

Big School (Classes A-B)

MARIAH GROVER

Grover, a senior on the MDI volleyball team, led the 4-0 Trojans to a key win Friday over previously undefeated Woodland. She was 15-for-16 serving and had two aces, 16 kills, seven blocks and two digs as the Trojans won 25-22, 25-17, 17-25, 25-20. Grover also sparked MDI to a 25-9, 25-19, 25-18 win over Bucksport Wednesday with 12-for-14 serving, six aces, 14 kills, 4 blocks and an assist.

Small School (Classes C-D)

NICOLE DAIGLE

Madawaska soccer senior Daigle recorded at least one assist in three games as the Owls knocked off two previously undefeated teams. She had the eventual game winner on a penalty kick as Madawaska won 2-0 Saturday and handed Calais its first defeat. Daigle logged two goals in a 5-1 victory over Limestone/MSSM Friday and put up two assists Sept. 11 in a 3-2 win over Caribou for the Vikings’ first loss.
