WATERVILLE – Jim Grant tallied two goals Wednesday to propel Thomas College to a 4-1 men’s soccer victory over Unity College.

Cory Underwood and Russell Beckwith chipped in with a goal each for Thomas. Russell Beckwith made two saves on three shots for the 5-1-2 Terriers.

Nick Howe scored the goal for Unity while Ross Caron made 12 saves on 16 shots for the 2-2-1 Rams.

Bates 5, UM-Farmington 0

At Farmington, Jonathan Labozzo scored two goals in the first half to propel Bates College of Lewiston past the University of Maine-Farmington.

Duane Pelz, Patrick King and Tyler Dewdney each added a goal for Bates. Aaron Schleicher and Robert Wesley-Munro combined to make two saves for the 1-2 Bobcats.

Brian Lemont, Matt Dennett and Rodney Payne combined to make four saves for the 1-1-2 Beavers.

Women’s soccer

Southern Maine 2, UMF 0

At Gorham, the Southern Maine Huskies allowed only four shots on goal and Alison Bradley didn’t need to make a save in the win over UMaine-Farmington.

Natasha Levandowski and Whitney Huse scored for the 3-3 Huskies with Samantha Rennie and Andrea Blanchette getting assists.

Kerry Kowalczyk and Ashley Holshouser combined for three saves on 11 shots for the 1-3 Beavers.
