ORONO – Dimitri Anastasiou scored two goals to lead the University of Maine men to a 2-1 soccer victory over Long Island University Sunday.

Thomas McCole had a goal and an assist 2-6 Maine and Pat Halligan provided an assist. Nemanja Kostic made four saves on six shots.

Alex Fatovic stopped four of seven shots for 2-4-1 LIU.

Johnson State 2, MMA 0

At Johnson, Vt., Gai Gai scored two goals to propel Johnson State by Maine Maritime Academy.

Randy Bertlett made one save on 10 shots for the 2-4-2 Mariners.

Husson 5, Johnson State 0

At Johnson, Vt., Nathan Carter had a hat trick with three goals to lift Husson of Bangor over Johnson State Saturday.

Mark Trombley and Joshua Bartlett both added a goal for 2-6-1 Husson. Miguel Dominguez and Ala Bradley combined to stop all four shots.

Andrew Lane stopped four of nine shots for 1-4 Johnson State.

Elms 3, UM-Farmington 0

At Chicopee, Mass., T.J. Nevue had two goals and assisted the other to give Elms College the victory over the University of Maine- Farmington Saturday.

Brian Lemont made 16 saves on 19 shots for 1-2-2 UM-Farmington.

Becker 3, Thomas 2

At Leicester, Mass., Alie Samura scored twice to lift Becker College over Thomas College of Waterville Saturday.

Tyler Simpson had a goal and an assist to lead 4-2-2 Thomas and Tim Costa added a goal. Russell Beckwith stopped five of 13 shots.

UM-Farmington 2, Becker 0

At Worcester, Mass., Sunday, Jeff Tatarczuk scored both goals to lead the University of Maine-Farmington past Becker.

Brian Lemont made two saves on 14 shots for the 2-2 UMF Beavers.

Aaron Fill saved five of 11 shots for 5-3 Becker.

Castleton State 2, Husson 1

At Castleton, Vt., Daniel Arteglier hit a cross from Corey Robinson to break the 1-1 tie and lead Castleton State to victory over Husson of Bangor Sunday.

Jeffrey Truchon scored off of a Logan Larabee assist for 2-6-1 Husson. Miguel Dominguez blocked five shots.

Unity 2, Vermont TC 1

At Unity, Nick Shown scored the winner with seven minutes left in the second half off of a John Korkos assist to lead Unity College past Vermont Technical College Saturday.

Matty Zane scored seven minutes into the second half on a Nick Howe assist for 3-2-1 Unity. Keith Sidle made five saves on 10 shots.

Andy Daigle tied it at 1-1 with an unassisted goal in the second half for 3-3-1 VTC.

SUNY-Canton 6, UM-Machias 0

At Potsdam, N.Y., on Sunday, Prince Sabatto scored two goals and Bismark Ansah added a goal and an assist for the victorious Roos.

Adam Mauro made five saves for UMaine-Machias.

Paul Smiths 3, UM-Machias 1

At Paul Smiths, N.Y., Mark Lawyer tallied two goals to lead Paul Smiths College by the University of Maine-Machias.

Kai Bailey scored for UM-Machias while Pat Corliss grabbed an assist. Adam Mauro made nine saves on 22 shots for the Clippers.

Women’s soccer

Maine Maritime 3, Johnson St. 1

At Johnson, Vt., Jessica Stahl, Diana Manatt and Katie Hutchinson scored second-half goals to lead Maine Maritime Academy of Castine past Johnson State College Sunday.

Meghan McKay assisted Stahl’s goal for the 5-2 Mariners. Lacey Jackson made one save on three shots.

Amy Barrows scored on a Heather Bedard assist to give 4-5 Johnson State the 1-0 lead.

Castleton 3, Maine Maritime 1

At Castleton, Vt., Saturday, the host Spartans notched their fourth straight conference win, but saw their shutout streak end as Maine Maritime Academy’s Katie Hutchinson scored.

Castleton State had gone 270 minutes without giving up a goal, but Hutchinson’s goal in the 82nd minute ended the streak.

Lacey Jackson saved five shots for the 4-2 Mariners.

UM-Farmington 1, Elms 0

At Chicopee, Mass., Saturday, Jackie Mrazik of Mount Vernon scored the game’s only goal five minutes into overtime to lead the UMF Beavers.

Kerry Kowalczyk made four saves to earn her first shutout of the season for the 2-3 Beavers.

Shannon Donnelly had six saves for the 2-5-1 Elms Blazers.

SUNY-Canton 7, UM-Machias 0

At Potsdam, N.Y., on Sunday, host SUNY-Canton remained undefeated in the Sunrise Conference as Erin Tulip scored three goals.

Shirley DuBrey did not have to make a save for SUNY-Canton, 4-2 overall and 4-0 in conference play.

Alicia Schmidt made 13 saves on 33 shots for UMaine-Machias.

UM-Machias 2, Paul Smiths 1

At Paul Smiths, NY, Amanda Norbic scored two goals to lead the University of Maine-Machias by Paul Smiths College.

Molly Kurz and Katie Beckwith each posted an assist while Alicia Schmidt made four saves on 10 shots for the Clippers.

Katie Jakaub scored for Paul Smiths while Karlie Zurmuhlen made five saves on 10 shots for the Bobcats.

Unity 1, Vermont TC 0

At Unity, Frankie Dalton scored the winning goal at the 17:35 mark in the first half to lead Unity College past Vermont Technical College Saturday.

Lisa Attendorn stopped all 10 shots for 3-1-1 Unity.

Husson 4, Johnson State 0

At Johnson, Vt., Saturday, Megan Lajoie scored two goals to lead the Husson College Eagles to victory.

Samantha Homer and Amy Sanz each scored one goal for 3-4-1 Husson. Tatyana Wolterbeek notched a shutout without making a save.

UM-Farmington 3, Becker 0

Leib gets 400th coaching win

At Worcester, Mass. Sunday, Amber Murphy tallied two goals to lead the University of Maine-Farmington by Becker College.

Head coach Bob Leib notched his 400th coaching win in his 31st and final season at UMF. He now has a lifetime record of 400-155-48 overall. His record as a men’s coach (177-2001) was 260-94-34.

Jackie Mrazik added a goal while Amanda Byrne had two assists for UMF. Kerry Kowalczyk and Ashley Holshouser combined to make three saves on five shots for the 3-3 Beavers.

Caitlin Faunce made 19 saves on 38 shots for 0-7-1 Becker.

Husson 4, Castleton State 0

At Castleton, Vt., Katie Nickerson scored a pair of goals to lead Husson College by Castleton State.

Amy Sans and Samantha Homer each added a goal while Meredith Homer, Megan Clement and Megan LaJoie each had an assist for Husson. Tatyana Wolterbeak made three saves for the 4-4-1 Eagles.

Husson 5, Becker 1

At Leicester, Mass., Erica Dorso and Emily Scholis both had a goal and an assist to lead Husson of Bangor to victory over Becker Saturday.

Erin Nason, Courtney Allen and Sarah Hessert added goals for 4-2 Husson. Nicci Burton and Lindsay Barnes provided assists. Kelly Bocchino blocked one of three shots.

Tammy Mullen scored on a penalty corner in the second half for 1-7 Becker.

Husson 9, Elms 0

At Chicopee, Mass., Erica Dorso scored three goals and assisted another to lead Husson of Bangor by Elms Sunday.

Elisah Dorso added two goals and two assists for the 5-2 Eagles and Courtney Allen scored twice. Krystal Doughty and Alyssa Bragdon both added a goal. Kelly Bocchino stopped two of three shots.

Katelyn Wasgatt made 14 saves on 24 shots for 1-8 Elms.

Saint Joseph’s 2, Simmons 0

At Standish Saturday, Kara Squillante and Darcey Ward scored to lift Saint Joseph’s College over Simmons College.

Jillian Kimball, Maria Arsenault and Jessica Baker scored for the 5-2 Monks. Colleen Grant stopped one of three shots. Cammy Keiler made seven saves on 15 shots for 1-5 Simmons.

Thomas 2, Elms 1

At Chicopee, Mass., Amy Miles scored both goals to lift 2-2 Thomas College of Waterville over Elms College Saturday.

Courtney Gilmore scored her first collegiate goal for 1-7 Elms.

Trinity 4, Colby 3 (OT)

At Waterville, Carolyn Cameron scored the winning goal from a Karli Del Rossi assist at 74:24 in overtime to lead Trinity College from a 3-1 deficit to beat Colby College 4-3 Saturday.

Meryl Poulin, Amy Campbell and Mary Clare Snediker scored for Colby. Jess Egan and Poulin provided assists as Jamie Enos made eight saves on 16 shots.

USM 4, Eastern Connecticut 2

At Willimantic, Conn., India Lowe scored a goal and assisted on another to lead the University of Southern Maine past Eastern Connecticut State University Saturday.

Alyssa Kraus, Missy Rivet and Sarah Winterbottom also scored for the 5-2 Huskies. Alyson Lumino and Brandi Alton both provided an assist. Allie Hill and Courtney Howe combined for seven saves on 11 shots.

Mindy Maher and Tia Mucciarone combined to make eight saves on 13 shots for 2-6 ECSU.
