FRANKFORT – The Belfast Bay Watershed is planning two hikes to Mount Waldo on Saturday, Oct. 13.
The hikes will focus on geology education while also providing views of Mount Katahdin. Both hikes, the longer and the shorter, are under two miles, but one is a more difficult descent to the quarry and return.
The hike is free and open to the public.
Participants should meet at 10 a.m. at the boat launching area on Route 1A in Frankfort and bring lunch, water and binoculars. Wearing clothing appropriate for Maine’s changeable weather is advised. For information, contact Skip Pendleton at 338-4427.
