CASTINE – Diana Manatt-Rogers scored two goals, including the game-winner at the 54-minute mark, to lift Maine Maritime Academy to a 2-1 women’s soccer victory over Thomas College on Wednesday.

Lindsey Comeau and Katie Hutchinson each grabbed an assist. Lacey Jackson made one save on six shots for the 6-2 Mariners.

Karen Demers netted a goal while Lindsay Thornton made 15 saves on 17 shots for the Terriers of Waterville.

UM-Farmington 3, UMPI 0

At Farmington, freshmen Chelsea Norton scored a pair of goals and Bethany Charles added her first collegiate goal as the University of Maine-Farmington improved to 4-3.

Julie Walters and Jessica Timmreck had assists and Kerry Kowalczyk made two saves on three shots.

Billie Martin made 18 saves on 36 shots for the 2-5 Owls.

St. Joseph’s 8, Daniel Webster 0

At Standish, Mikayla Call scored a pair of goals and Jessica Needham had a goal and two assists as St. Joseph’s upped its record to 9-0.

Heather Stanger and Heidi Stucki had a goal and an assist apiece. Anna Flynn and Whitney Linindoll had the other goals and Daniel Webster had an own goal.

Brianna Jordan had two assists with Lauren Hagerman, Anna Willis and Elizabeth Theberge collecting one each.

Kendra DeVore made 28 saves on 55 shots for 0-7 Daniel Webster (N.H.).

Men’s Soccer

UM-Machias 2, Unity 1

At Machias, Tom Erlawbach and Anthony Martiniano scored second-half goals eight minutes apart to lift UMaine-Machias to victory over Unity.

Adam Mauro made two saves on three shots for the 2-5-1 Clippers.

John Korkes scored for 3-3-1 Unity. Keith Sidle made four saves on 15 shots.

Colby 2, Southern Maine 0

At Waterville, Todd Boertzel assisted on goals by Adam Curatolo and Will Kinder as the White Mules topped the University of Southern Maine.

Dan Marden notched a second straight shutout with one save on six shots as Colby improved to 3-1-1.

David Kreps made four saves on 24 shots for the 5-3-1 Huskies.

Field hockey

USM 5, Worcester State 2

At Gorham, Caitlin Albert scored two goals to lead the University of Southern Maine Huskies past Worcester State.

Sara Winterbottom had a goal and two assists for the 6-3 Huskies. Other goals came from Alyssa Kraus and India Lowe. Allie Hill and Courtney Howe combined to make three saves on seven shots.

Kara Walker scored both goals for the 5-4 Lancers. Erin MacDonald had 10 saves on 21 shots.

Club football

UMaine 75, Central Maine 0

At Madison, the University of Maine Black Bears Football Club (3-0) won in convincing fashion Saturday over the Central Maine Warriors (0-3).

The Bears set NIFL records for points scored in a half (40) and in a game (75).

The defense did its part as Dylan Veilleux had a 22-yard interception return for a touchdown while Jeff Langenheim recovered a blocked punt in the end zone and Matt Littlefield ran a fumble back for a score.

UMaine also got a 9-yard touchdown run from Eric Whitman and a scoring run from Eddie Perkins.
