ORONO – School Superintendent Kelly Clenchy has asked the School Committee to consider what its goals should be for the coming year.

“I’ve asked the committee to give the process some thought,” Clenchy said Wednesday. “As superintendent, I indicated to them that even though we’re involved in regionalization, I think it’s [important] to goal-set.”

Tuesday night’s meeting was brief, but the committee did discuss the Reorganization Planning Committee meeting set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Orono municipal building.

The purpose of the RPC is to form a plan for the municipality to comply with the state’s mandate to consolidate Maine’s 152 school administrative systems into no more than 80 regional units. The bill was signed into law in early June.
