The Maine Wildlife Park in Gray is planning a special event to clear the shelves at its nature store before the park closes on Nov. 11.

The store is holding a Super Sale on Oct. 6-8 during which all store items will be marked down 20 percent.

Many gift items and Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife logo merchandise are available.

Proceeds from nature store sales directly benefit the wildlife park in its efforts to constantly improve exhibits and displays.

The Maine Wildlife Park is located on Route 26 in Gray. Admission to the park is free for those age 3 and under, $4 for those 5-12, $4.50 for seniors and $6 for adults.

Hunter safety courses set

Fall is officially upon us, and it’s time for many prospective hunters to fulfill their state-mandated hunter safety requirements.

Here are some upcoming hunter safety courses:
