AUGUSTA – Central Maine Power is warning of potential problems with hundreds of Dig Safe requests in five counties.
CMP spokesman John Carroll said the problem is with requests made in Franklin, Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis and Waldo counties.
He said a problem with a Dig Safe data file means CMP never received requests in those counties between Sept. 21 and Oct. 1. The concern is that excavators and contractors could proceed with digging at sites that were not inspected by CMP.
Carroll said people who requested permits during that time should get new ones. The old ones should be considered null and void.
