HAMPDEN – Three residents will vie for one council seat in November’s election.

Nancy Chaiyabhat, Andre Cushing and Jim Feverston will run to fill Bob Gilberti’s term that is set to expire on Dec. 31, 2009. Gilberti announced his resignation in September, citing medical issues as an indirect reason for his departure.

Chaiyabhat currently serves on the town’s communications committee and comprehensive planning committee, Town Manager Susan Lessard said.

Cushing is a former councilor and is involved with the Hampden Highlights news magazine, the welcome to Hampden bag program and Hampden Happenings.

Feverston serves on the Lura E. Hoit Memorial Pool board of trustees, the town’s economic development committee and comprehensive planning committee, and he is leading the Tree City USA effort, she said.
