Cony trips up Brewer in overtime Rideout lifts Foxcroft by Bucksport; Mattanawcook tops Mount View

AUGUSTA – Matt Rende scored from nine yards out in overtime as Cony outlasted Brewer 24-23 Friday night for its second straight high school football victory.

The Witches responded in the extra session, with Sean Murphy scoring from 6yards out, but the two-point conversion pass failed.

Joey Records scored on touchdown runs of 9 and 7 yards for the Rams, and he finished with 79 yards rushing.

Jamie Nickerson compiled 43 yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns for Brewer, while Murphy finished with 52 yards on 12 attempts, all in the fourth quarter. Dylan Fitzpatrick sent the game to overtime with a 36-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

Foxcroft 35, Bucksport 16

At Dover-Foxcroft, Jerod Rideout ran 10 times for 100 yards and scored two touchdowns to help lead Foxcroft Academy past Bucksport.

Shane Adkins added 96 yards on four carries and two touchdowns for the Ponies. Jamie Nason scored on a 13-yard run in the second quarter and completed two of six passes for 55 yards.

Nate Warren had 12 carries for 118 yards and scored a fourth-quarter touchdown to lead Bucksport. Derek Fish added a two-yard scoring run in the second quarter.

Alex Giosia ran 83 yards on 21 carries.

Foxcroft totaled 311 yards on offense and Bucksport had 223 yards.

Mattanawcook 50, Mount View 6

At Lincoln, Kyle Epp rushed for two touchdowns and passed for another to lead Mattanawcook Academy to victory over Mount View of Thorndike.

Ethan White had nine carries for 110 yards and two touchdowns for the Lynx.

Derek Gardner intercepted a pass and returned it 60 yards to open the scoring for Mattanawcook and he later caught a 27-yard pass in the fourth quarter from Josh Pelkey for a touchdown.

Cody Flanders caught a one-yard pass from Epp in the first quarter and Jeremy Jipson converted six extra-point kicks.

Nathan Nevells led Mattanawcook with 10 tackles and five assists. Josh Murchison intercepted two passes.

Edwin Santana completed a 19-yard pass to Tyler Rednour in the second quarter for Mount View’s only touchdown.

At Bar Harbor, Odane Gaynor rushed for 127 yards on 18 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead Mount Desert Island to victory.

Tyler Crawford completed touchdown passes to Terrence Jones and Jasper Cousins and scored on a 19-yard run in the fourth for the Trojans.

Jones rushed 113 yards on just four carries for MDI. Ethan Burne, Taylor Stewart and Chase Bickford added touchdown rushes.

MDI racked up 447 yards on the ground.

Josh Boucher paced Old Town with 147 yards through the air while completing 11 of 19 passes, including a 30-yard TD passes to Lance Getchell.

Boucher also rushed four a second-quarter touchdown. Getchell had five catches for 67 yards.

T.J. Toole wrapped up the scoring with a 20-yard run.

At Belfast, Alex Mansfield had 21 rushes for 154 yards and scored two touchdowns and completed a two-point rushing conversion to lift Belfast over Nokomis of Newport.

Willy Fogg added two touchdown runs and three two-point conversions for the Lions.

Jake Arthers returned a kickoff 79 yards for a third-quarter touchdown and Nick Marston added a fourth-quarter scored on a one-yard run.

Jake Welch scored the Warriors’ only touchdown on a 55-yard fumble recovery in the first quarter.
