Orono police silenced a loud party on Crosby Street on Thursday night after summoning eight young adults for alcohol-related offenses.
Orono officers reported that nearly 40 young adults swarmed the parking lot of 62 Crosby St. around 11:50 p.m., but the crowd dispersed once police arrived, some into the apartment building, and others down the street, said Sgt. Scott Lajoie of the Orono Police Department.
Five were summoned for possession of alcohol by a minor: Samual Lynch, 20; Stephanie Satow, 19; Beverly Robbins, 20; Alexandra Pisarek, 19; and Edward Williams, 19.
Roommates Brendan Butt, 19, and Samual Subilia, 20, who live at the Crosby Street address, were summoned for allowing minors to consume alcohol and furnishing alcohol to minors, Lajoie said. A third roommate, Jesse Melanson, 20, also was charged for furnishing and allowing minors to consume alcohol, but also was charged for theft, since officers found signs from a nearby construction site hanging in the apartment.
Additional charges may be filed against others who may have provided alcohol for the party, said Lajoie. (Toni-Lynn Robbins, BDN)
