Higgins goal lifts Bangor

BANGOR – Ashley Higgins scored with 15 minutes left in the game to propel the Bangor Rams to a 2-1 high school field hockey victory over the Brunswick Dragons Monday.

Molleigh Mahaney scored in the first half to tie it up for Bangor. Hilary Babin stopped 20 of 21 shots.

Katie Jameson’s goal gave Brunswick a lead in the first half. Heather Durkee took the loss in goal.

JV: Bangor 3-0

Dexter 3, Stearns 1

At Millinocket, Jess Mason scored two goals and Jana Kenney added another as Dexter triumphed.

Jordan Conway, Claire Wyman and Olivia Gardner grabbed assists for the 11-2 Tigers. Sam Conway had five saves on 10 shots.

Becca Leavitt scored for the 7-5-2 Minutemen, with Adriana Eurich notching the assist. Alyssa Beaulieu stopped 13 of 18 shots.

JV: Dexter 4-0

Girls soccer

Lee 6, Schenck 0

At Lee, Aarika Ritchie scored three goals and Amanda Gifford added two goals and an assist to help Lee improve to 13-0.

Kellsey Grass chipped in with a goal and Morgan McGaw notched two assists for the winners. Karin Bird made three saves on 13 shots.

Leann Toothaker made three saves on 35 shots for 1-10-1 Schenck of East Millinocket.

Greenville 3, Buckfield 1

At Greenville, five different players figured into the scoring as the Lakers moved to 10-1-1.

McKenna Peat, Addie Pelletier and Ruby Rockwell each scored a goal. Gretel Breton and Kaitlin Harmon each chipped in with an assist. Lauren Fling stopped 14 of 15 shots.

Alyssa Harmon scored off an assist from Ashlee Hamann for 5-5 Buckfield. Carly Carlile had 15 saves on 18 shots.

Boys soccer

Schenck 4, Lee 0

At Lee, Aaron Hutchins scored two goals and Steven Deveau handed out two assists as Schenck of East Millinocket blanked Lee.

Trevor Violette had a goal and assist and Aaron Ewing a goal for the 5-6-2 Wolverines. Lanny Thompson had seven saves on 14 shots.

A.J. Harris stopped 13 of 28 shots for the 1-10-1 Pandas.

Greenville 2, Buckfield 1

At Greenville, Richie Chilson scored two goals, including the game winner with 26:42 left in the second half, to lift the Lakers to their fourth straight win.

Alex Jardine chipped in with an assist for 8-3 Greenville and Tim Post stopped 30 of 31 shots.

Travis Jordan scored for the 2-6-1 Bucks. Nate Corson made 25 saves on 27 shots.

Central 4, Hermon 0

At Corinth, Ryan Bean scored two goals and assisted another to lift Central over Hermon.

Matt Connolly had a goal and an assist for the 7-3-2 Red Devils and Patrick Byers added a goal. Jacob Speed and Scott Kelley provided assists. Tyler Pineo and Aaron Partridge combined for 11 saves on 14 shots.

Cory Johnson and Jerimy McIntyre combined to stop 20 of 27 shots for 2-10 Hermon.

JV: Hermon 2-0

Washington Acad. 7, Sumner 1

At East Machias, Min Kim led Washington Academy past Sumner of East Sullivan by scoring two goals.

Joey Hunter, Todd Junn, Milos Gautier, Young Gi and Mike Knowles scored for the Raiders. Josiah Jackson made seven saves on 11 shots.

Joey Ossanna scored a first-half goal for Sumner and Ralph Tayamora stopped 34 of 44 shots.
