BELFAST – Sunday morning’s rear-end collision was a case of a wife not paying attention to her husband.
Patrolman Eric Kelly said Arlene E. Sohns, 54, of Bucksport was following her husband, James E. Sohns, 60, also of Bucksport, down Church Street at 8:30 a.m. Sunday when she failed to see him slow down to make a turn onto Grove Street and smashed into the rear end of his pickup truck. Damage to his 1995 Nissan pickup was estimated at $3,000 and damage to her 2005 Subaru was estimated at $5,000. The Subaru had to be towed from the scene, Kelly said Tuesday.
Kelly said the couple were on their way to visit relatives when the accident occurred.
“It was too bad for them but it was easy for me,” Kelly said. “I didn’t have to exchange insurance information for the accident report because it was all the same.”
