TERRENCE JONES

Jones, a wide receiver on the Mount Desert Island football team, caught four passes for 118 yards as the Trojans defeated Nokomis of Newport 21-6. Jones caught touchdown passes of 61 and 30 yards in the first half as MDI built a 13-0 lead en route to its fifth victory of the season.

Small School (Classes C-D)

ANDREW WEISS

Weiss, a senior on the Rockland football team, rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on eight carries and also had more than 100 receiving yards and two more scores through the air as the Tigers improved their record to 5-2 with a victory over Stearns of Millinocket.

A senior goalie on the Mount View field hockey team, Cronin stopped eight of nine shots, including two penalty strokes, as the No. 2 Mustangs of Thorndike beat No. 7 Old Town 3-1 in an Eastern Maine Class B quarterfinal.
