BANGOR – “It’s About Time!” the Maine Discovery Museum’s fifth annual dinner auction and fundraising event, will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Spectacular Event Center, Griffin Road.

Guest auctioneers are Kara Matuszewski and Chris Facchini of WLBZ News Center 2. The silent auction and preview of auction items will begin at 5 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the live auction at 8 p.m.

This year’s auction features 56 clocks created by Maine artists. There are clocks for every room and for serious art collectors, with designs ranging from whimsical to abstract.

Contributing artists come from across Maine, as do visitors to Maine Discovery Museum, the state’s largest children’s museum. Local artists include Shelly O’Bar of Bangor, Robin Lown Gardella of Augusta and Jeff Freeman of Bar Harbor. There will also be surprises in store.

Tickets for the event are $45 per person and can be purchased online or by contacting the museum at 262-7200. View the clocks online and learn about the artists who created them at www.mainediscoverymuseum.org. Absentee bids are accepted.

“It’s About Time!” is sponsored by Merrill Bank, Quirk Saab, Moss and the Bangor Daily News, and photos are provided by James Daigle Photography.

For information, contact Jennifer Chiarell at the museum at 262-7200.
