The Patawa Club has collected the best recipes from group members, family and friends, and compiled them into an attractive keepsake cookbook, “River City Recipes.” The cookbook features artwork of local landmarks by artist Tom Kane, such as the Thomas Hill Standpipe, City Hall, Bangor Auditorium, Union Station and many more.
Club members began selling the one-of-a-kind cookbooks for $10 on Sept. 10. Cookbooks may be purchased at the Bangor Museum and History Center, Bookmarc’s, Borders Books, Furbush-Roberts Printing, the Grasshopper Shop or Patrick’s Hallmark on Broadway. All proceeds go to local charities such as the Bangor Area Shelter, Good Samaritan Agency, the Salvation Army’s PowerHouse Teen Center, Shaw House and Spruce Run.
The cookbook contains more than 300 well-loved recipes, including appetizers, main dishes, desserts and many others. Recipes include the contributor’s name, enabling purchasers to find the recipes of family and friends.
