CALAIS – Calais High School will hold its first home football game in seven decades at 1 p.m. Saturday when the Calais-Woodland Silverados host Camden Hills of Rockport on the soccer field at the school.
Admission to Saturday’s football game is $4 adults and $2 children/student. There will be a 50-50 draw and Silverado parent Mary Beth Newman will provide concessions, according to a press release.
The team also continues with its fundraising efforts in hopes of someday building a stadium in Washington County.
The next fundraiser is a mile-long haunted hayride scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday Oct. 27-28, at Jim and Karen Davis’ Pleasant Lake Campground in Alexander. Cost is $3 per person, and all proceeds will support Silverado football.
Calais and Woodland have combined forces to develop a cooperative program that is playing at the subvarsity level this fall with plans to join the varsity ranks in two years.
