Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. crews worked Saturday to restore power to 1,200 customers affected by outages caused by heavy wind and rain.
Early Saturday morning there was a problem at the Hampden substation affecting about 103 customers in Hancock County, 337 customers in Penobscot County and one customer in Washington County, according to a statement issued by Bangor Hydro on Saturday. Those customers included several large businesses, and the problems were expected to be resolved on Saturday, the statement said.
Bangor Hydro reminds customers to stay clear of downed power lines and trees in contact with power lines and to report outages by calling 800-440-1111.
