CASTLETON, Vt. – Carolyn Griggs scored the tying and winning goals to lift Castleton State College to a 3-2 overtime win over Husson College of Bangor in a college field hockey game Saturday.
Griggs scored the winner off a Meghan Konowich assist at the 73:34 mark for 11-4 Castleton State. Kayla Blank scored on a Griggs assist at 5:08 in the first half. Trisha Clark made five saves on 11 shots.
Erica Dorso and Elisah Dorso scored unassisted goals for the 10-4 Eagles. Kelly Bocchino stopped five of 14 shots.
Thomas 9, Regis 0
At Weston, Mass., Britt Oxley had a pair of goals and an assist and Sarah Estes added a pair of goals to lead Thomas College to its victory over Regis College Sunday.
Alyssa Audie and Kellie Martel each had a goal and two assists with Julie Lorenz, Jana Fetterhoff and Rachel Salandy collecting the other goals for 5-6 Thomas of Waterville.
Drielle Mitchell stopped the only shot she faced while Elizabeth Kluchnick made 21 saves on 38 shots for 0-19 Regis College.
USM 2, Bridgewater State 1
At Bridgewater, Mass., Alyssa Kraus scored a goal and assisted on another to lead the University of Southern Maine past Bridgewater State College Saturday.
Caitlin Albert scored at 9:30 in the first half for the 12-5 Huskies and Kraus added a second-half goal for a 2-0 lead. Allie Hill stopped nine of 13 shots.
Kelly Duchemin scored an unassisted goal at 59:12 for 10-5 Bridgewater State. Nicole Downs made nine saves on 12 shots.
