ORONO – Laura Harper and Hannah Breton scored second-half goals 3:21 apart to lift the University of Maine to a 2-0 America East women’s soccer victory over Binghamton Sunday.

Harper headed home a Kim Stephenson corner kick at the 54:58 mark for the 5-6-3 Black Bears and Breton scored from a scramble after Harper’s shot deflected to her.

Jasmine Phillips stopped three of 10 shots for Maine.

Jan McEachron made three saves on 10 shots for the 2-10-3 Bearcats.

At Farmington, Melissa St. Amand converted a penalty kick in the 49th minute to lead the University of Maine at Farmington to victory over Johnson State College Saturday.

Kerry Kowalczyk made three saves for the 13-3 Beavers.

At Waterville, Ashley Ledoux scored twice to lead Castleton State College to victory over Thomas College Saturday.

Tracy Stala and Julianna Dorsey added goals for 11-7 Castleton State. Micole Bellimer blocked one of three shots.

Sophia Mansora scored for 7-8-2 Thomas while Lindsay Thornton stopped 10 of 25 shots.

Western Connecticut 4, USM 0

At Gorham, Amy Corchard, Catherine Nathans, Kim Crayco and Victoria Capozziello scored to lead Western Connecticut State University past the University of Southern Maine Saturday.

Jenna Cappelieri and Shannon Cowley combined for one save on two shots for 14-1-1 Western Connecticut.

Mindy Morneault stopped nine of 20 shots for the 6-9 Huskies.

At Bangor, Amy Sanz and Megan Clement scored to lift Husson College over Elms College Saturday.

Kylan Smith assisted Sanz’ goal at 15:09 in the first half for the 10-6-1 Eagles. Clement scored unassisted at 71:42 in the second half. Tatyana Wolterbeek turned away three of five shots.

Shannon Donnelly made seven saves on 20 shots for 5-9-1 Elms.

At Fort Kent, Nicole Nowakowski scored 1:29 into overtime to lift the University of Maine at Fort Kent over the College of Saint Joseph of Vermont Saturday.

Liz LaPlante didn’t face a shot for the 9-4-2 Bengals.

Irene Tompkins stopped 14 shots for 6-8 College of Saint Joseph.

At Castine Sunday, Alison Couture collected a loose ball off a corner kick and lofted it over MMA goalie Lacey Jackson eight minutes into the first overtime as Elms, now 6-9-1 (5-4-1 in the North Atlantic Conference play.

Elms earned the fifth seed for the North Atlantic Conference Tournament while Maine Maritime Academy (9-7, 4-6) will be the sixth seed.

Shannon Donnelly made three saves on nine shots for the Blazers of Chicopee, Mass.

Jackson made seven stops on 19 shots.

Amy Stech scored for 1-4-1 Maine while Sarah Bishop made 33 saves on 36 shots for the Black Bears.

At Farmington, Andrew Harner and Ryan Pelletier each scored off passes from Andy Knox as the University of Maine-Farmington defeated Johnson State College.

Brian Lemont stopped four of nine shots in recording his eighth shutout of the season for the 6-4-4 Beavers.

Andrew Lane made 10 saves on 17 shots for the 4-10 Badgers.

Thomas 3, Johnson State 1

At Waterville Sunday, first-half goals by Keegan Curtin and Jim Grant, both assisted by Tim Costa, sent Thomas on its way to the victory. Thomas is now 7-6-3.

Corey Underwood scored the other Terrier goal and Russell Beckwith made four saves.

Paul Ladd scored off a David Derrick pass for 4-10 Johnson State (Vt.).

At Waterville, Ryan Hahn scored three goals to lead Castleton State College past Thomas.

At Machias, Tom Erlaubach scored two goals and assisted another to lead the University of Maine at Machias to victory over the College of St. Joseph of Vermont.

At Fort Kent, Dwayne Smith scored a goal and provided two assists to push the undefeated University of Maine at Fort Kent past the College of Saint Joseph of Vermont Saturday.
