ALFRED, N.Y. – Quarterback Paul Keeley completed 14 of 28 passes for 288 yards and five touchdowns to lead undefeated Alfred University to a 53-21 football victory over Husson College of Bangor Saturday.
Jared Manzer scored four touchdowns for the Saxons. He caught three TD passes from Keeley and totaled 169 yards receiving and returned a punt 90 yards for a first-quarter touchdown.
Vinson Hendrix rushed for 165 yards and scored on a 10-yard run in the first quarter for Alfred.
Husson quarterback Jonah Chappell started the scoring with a 37-yard touchdown run at 12:34 in the first quarter. He passed for 200 yards while going 16 for 33 through the air.
Chappell completed a 59-yard pass to Victor McKenzie with 9:35 left in the first period.
Justin Linde scored early in the third quarter on a one-yard run for Husson.
Don Miller added a two-yard touchdown run and Matt Gibbons caught a scoring pass from Keeley for the Saxons.
Dan Dunham recorded two sacks for Alfred.
Ross Salovitch had 8.5 tackles for Husson and recorded a quarterback sack. Rameal Barton also had 8.5 tackles and added a forced fumble and an interception.
