AUBURN – A bed and breakfast owner has pleaded guilty in Androscoggin County Superior Court to a misdemeanor charge of violation of privacy for having a hidden video camera in the bathroom of a guest room.

Clint Zimmerman, owner of the Munroe Inn, was fined $1,500 and ordered to pay $127 in restitution to the woman who complained to police that she believed he was viewing video footage from her bathroom.

After executing a search warrant, police found a video camera hidden in a clock in the bathroom with the camera pointed at the shower. Police quoted Zimmerman as saying he was using the camera to try to catch an employee he believed was breaking things in guest rooms.
