BANGOR – Vaughn Thibodeau & Sons contractors has changed owners. The firm was purchased Oct. 3 by its vice president of operations, David Lakeman, and his wife, Lynn. Lakeman, of Holden, has kept all Thibodeau employees on board and has no plans to change the name of the company, he said Tuesday.

“It’s still a family business,” Lakeman said. “It’s the same atmosphere, same service.”

Before coming to Thibodeau 21/2 years ago, Lakeman worked for H.E. Sargent Corp. for 33 years.

Thibodeau is performing site and asphalt work and providing concrete on two major area construction projects: Hollywood Slots at Bangor and Cianbro’s Eastern Manufacturing Facility in Brewer.

Vaughn Thibodeau could not be reached for comment Tuesday afternoon.
