ORONO – Aarika Ritchie scored three goals, two in the second half, as the two-time defending Class D state champion and third-ranked Pandas earned a spot in the Eastern Maine Class C final with a 4-0 girls soccer victory over the No. 2 Orono Red Riots Wednesday.

ORONO – Aarika Ritchie scored three goals, two in the second half, as the two-time defending Class D state champion and third-ranked Pandas earned a spot in the Eastern Maine Class C final with a 4-0 girls soccer victory over the No. 2 Orono Red Riots Wednesday.

Lee (16-0) will travel to Blue Hill for the regional final against No. 1 George Stevens Academy Saturday at 1 p.m.

Lee had won six straight EM Class D titles before moving to Class C this year.

Heidi Sappier contributed a second-half goal for the Pandas and Amanda Gifford had two assists, both on Ritchie’s second-half goals. Karin Bird made 9 saves on 18 shots.

Brittney Pinkham and Ruth Mares combined to make 12 saves on 20 shots for Orono, which wrapped up its season at 11-5.

Class D

Bangor Christian 1, Washburn 0

At Bangor, Christin Pelletier scored the game-winning goal with 25:10 left in the first half to lift No. 2 Bangor Christian past No. 3 Washburn.

The Patriots will travel to Ashland for an Eastern Maine final clash with the Hornets Friday afternoon at noon.

Pelletier scored off a corner kick by Katherine Bragg. Moriah Bach made seven saves on eight shots for the 12-4 Patriots.

Rachel Palmer stopped 10 of 19 shots for 10-5-1 Washburn.

Ashland 3, Katahdin 0

At Ashland, Crystal Cook notched a goal and an assist as No. 1 Ashland shut out No. 4 Katahdin.

Whitney Flint and Jacky Raymond each netted a goal while Mindy Chasse chipped in with an assist for 14-0-2 Ashland. Taylor Baker stopped all eight shots she faced for the Hornets.

Kayla Stevens made 15 saves on 24 shots for the 9-5-2 Cougars.

Class A

Waterville 2, Hampden 0

At Waterville, Steph Whitten tallied a goal and an assist to lead No. 1 Waterville by No. 4 Hampden Academy.

Whitten scored with 12:07 left in the first after she received a pass from Jordan Pellerin, dribbled across the 18 and scored from 20 yards out.

Laura Tozier added the second goal off an assist from Whitten with 22:17 remaining in the second half.

Taylor Hart stopped both shots she faced for the 15-0-1 Panthers.

Michelle Wells made 12 saves on 25 shots for the 11-4-1 Broncos.

Class B

John Bapst 3, Presque Isle 0

At Presque Isle, Morgan Chasse scored two goals as No. 3 John Bapst upset No. 2 Presque Isle.

Catherine Lammert added a goal and an assist while Whitney Sinclair and Ashley Gale each grabbed an assist for 13-0-3 John Bapst. Sam Maquillan made eight saves on 10 shots for the Crusaders.

Allisen Donovan made stopped 11 of 16 shots for 10-3-3 Presque Isle.

Class D, West

Greenville 3, Rangeley 1

At Greenville, McKenna Peat, Gretel Breton and Ruby Rockwell each scored a goal in the second half to spark No. 1 Greenville by No. 3 Rangeley.

Lauren Fling made four saves on five shots for 11-1-1 Greenville.

Taryn Carter netted a goal in the first half off a pass from Emma Christensen. Krista Jamison stopped seven of 12 shots for 6-7-1 Rangeley.

Field hockey

Class A

Skowhegan 4, Gardiner 1

At Skowhegan, Melissa Hancock and Sam Gifford each tallied two goals as top-ranked Skowhegan cruised to the Eastern Maine championship victory over No. 2 Gardiner.

Each of the goals scored by Skowhegan were off penalty corners. Megan Hancock made six saves on 11 shots for the 16-1 Indians.

Kristyn Seymour netted a goal for Gardiner late in the first half. Melissa Breton stopped seven of 13 shots for the 15-2 Tigers.
