AUGUSTA – A former Monmouth Academy English teacher charged with having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old female student is back in jail after police found him with the girl in violation of his bail conditions.
Christopher Dumaine was arrested at 4 a.m. Tuesday after a state police detective who had staked out his Readfield house saw him leave in the middle of the night, return to his home a short time later and then leave again with the girl.
Kennebec County District Attorney Evert Fowle has filed a motion to have Dumaine’s bail revoked. Dumaine, who is 39, taught at the school for 16 years before his resignation last month. He was charged two weeks ago with gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact.
