Husson men get to semis No. 3 Eagles play Becker Wednesday

BANGOR – Nattapong Kongsuriya scored an unassisted goal at 12:43 of the first half Sunday to lead the Husson College men’s soccer team past Lesley 2-0 in the North Atlantic Conference quarterfinals.

No. 3 Husson plays Wednesday at No. 2 Becker College.

Nathan Carter added an insurance goal off a Mark Trombley assist at 25:10 for 9-9-1 Husson. Miguel Dominguez and Bradley Ala combined for two saves on five shots.

Zach Almeida-Beers saved five of 16 shots for 6-10-1 Lesley.

Stony Brook 1, Maine 0

At Orono, Stony Brook scored off an own goal by Maine late in the first half as the Seawolves defeated the Black Bears.

David Ditrich made two saves on six shots for Stony Brook (9-6-2).

Ben Piotrowski and Giacomo Brunino combined to make three saves on 13 shots for the Black Bears (3-12-1).

Bates 3, Colby 2

At Waterville, Bates College of Lewiston scored two goals in a span of 1:28 in the second half to overcome a 2-1 deficit and beat Colby.

Dustin DeGregorio, Patrick Grater and Rob Friedlander each tallied a goal for 5-8-1 Bates. Aaron Schleicher made four saves.

Matt Shatkin and Jamie Waters each scored a second-half goal for Colby. Doug Sibor stopped four shots for the 6-6-2 White Mules.

Rhode Island College 2, USM 1

At Providence, R.I., Joe Sousa scored two goals, including the game-winner in the second half, to lift Rhode Island College past the University of Southern Maine of Gorham.

Sousa netted the winning goal on a free kick from midfield in the 69th minute. Jadon Neves made nine saves for the 8-8 Anchormen.

Eddie Weddington scored an unassisted goal for USM. David Kreps stopped six shots for the 10-7 Huskies.

Becker 3, Thomas 0

At Leicester, Mass., Dirilino DeBrito scored two second-half goals Sunday to lead Becker to victory over Thomas College of Waterville in the North Atlantic Conference quarterfinals.

Alie Samura had a first-half goal for 15-5 Becker and Snjezan Telebak provided two assists. Aaron Fill made one save on six shots.

Russell Beckwith stopped four of 15 shots as Thomas finishes its season at 7-9-3.

UM-Farmington 1, Elms 0 (PKs)

At Chicopee, Mass., after the No 5 University of Maine-Farmington and No. 4 Elms failed to score goals in regulation and two overtimes Sunday, Jeff Tatarczuk, Peter Doolittle and Andy Knox each scored on penalty kicks in the shootout to lead the Beavers past the Blazers in the North Atlantic Conference quarterfinals.

Brian Lemont stopped two of four shots in the shootout and made five saves previously for 6-4-6 UM-Farmington.

Nick Pellegrini stopped five shots in regulation and two in overtime for 5-10-2 Elms.

UM-Fort Kent 3, Vermont TC 2

At Fort Kent, Damion Stone scored in overtime Sunday, helping preserve the University of Maine-Fort Kent’s unbeaten soccer season with a victory over Vermont Technical College.

UM-Fort Kent ends its regular season with a perfect 18-0 record.

Emlyn Jacoby scored two penalty kick goals for the Bengals.

Christopher Minor and Timothy Quinn scored for 3-6-4 Vermont Tech.

UMPI 4, UM-Machias 0

At Presque Isle, Matt Petrie tallied two goals Sunday to propel the University of Maine-Presque Isle by UMaine-Machias.

Corey Harding and Joe Pinault each added a goal while David Rudolph, Devon Peaslee and Jared Griffiths each grabbed an assist for 8-9-1 UMPI. Scott Clenchy did not face any shots in goal for the Owls.

Adam Mauro made 15 saves on 19 shots for the 6-9-2 Clippers.
